Chenggong Sports Training Base is located in the southern suburbs of Chenggong County, which is endowed as the home town of vegetables, fruits and flowers. The center is 24 km from Kunming and occupies an area of  53 ha. The facilities available in the training base include plastic tracks and fields, all-weather tracks, 1000m racecourse, motor racecourse and 1000 m racecourse as well as pasture football field. Quiet settings and fresh airs as well as sound closed-in training facilities are most distinctive at the base. Special unit for medical care and cure has also been set up to provide professional services to athletes and players. There has been sound cooperation going on with the Yunnan Sports Research Institute to pro vide research services to the athletes and players who have come to receive training in the base. 

    Chengong Sports Training Base has been regarded by many coaches from other provinces and municipalities as the "take-off ground for Champions". Many of the elite trainees coached by renown coaches, such as Mr. Ma Junren, Mr. Wang Kui, Mr. Luo Weixin, Mr. Sha Yingzheng, etc. and who received world championships in their later career have been trained in this center for many times. In the recent years, along with the expansion and development of the training base, the new bicycle racecourse compliant to international standards will be available to serve the trainees starting from August 2002.
