About 10 km from Kungming downtown, Kunming Haigeng Sports Training Base is situated at the southern side of Kunming City, overlooking the Dianchi Lake. The center neighbors the Yunnan Ethnic Vil lages and looking into the Dragon Gate of the Western Hills, both of which are renown scenic sites of Kunming, and occupies an area of 400,000 squre metre at the elevation of 1,888 m. The benefits of the natural conditions at   the Kunming Sports Training Base, com- pare with those of other world-class training centers, are distinctive of   Haigeng is located in mid-plateau elevation and at low      latitude, and is the ideal site for training and exercising of  physical sports.  

      The subtropical prairie climate in  Haigeng is adequate for training     throughout the year, and particularly  suitable for year-round outdoor training programs.
      The Haigeng Training Center  has constructed several dozens of gymnasium courts and racecourses suitable  for various types of training at large scales, specifically for football, volleyball, basketball, table tennis, swimming, Ping-Pong, diving, baseball and softball, etc.
